Friday we went to the Michigan Renaissance Fair. The only Friday that they are open, it is primarily for school kids (including homeschooled kids, like me!). This was not our first time - we went last year, too. You can see my article from last year - Kids Fun at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. I liked the belly dancing - here they are dancing with scarves. There was a beautiful twirling girl.

My favorite part was jumping - you get strapped in and then you try to jump as high as you can. You can try to do a flip but I couldn't. I liked it because you are getting exercise and also because you feel like you're flying - a weird type of flying like you're also bouncing.

They had a great kids area, where you could make a magic wand and test it. PS It really works. If you don't believe in magic, you can go to the sandbox (purple sand) and also to the playground, where you can climb up the slide.

We went on the swings again. It was totally fun. Last time they were painted dragons, this time it was just plain. You sit in it and pull the ropes. You try to get it as high as you can. Just don't let go of the rope! My hands were getting really tired.

There were these two flamethrower guys that were really funny. Don't Sit in the Front Row! Their name is Zucchini Brothers.

The Washing Well Wenches - we didn't get a good shot of them because they were always moving! Here is their stage. They ask for volunteers from the audience. If you don't want your dad to be picked, cover him. That's what I did. They ask the volunteers to do silly things. One time she licked this flower and he had to pick it up from her mouth. EEUW!

The bagpipes - you can hear the bagpipes when you are in the park. The music was so beautiful. I recognized some of the songs.

We got our picture taken. I chose to wear a princess costume. I loved it. I felt like I was a real princess. The photographer said that she had made all of the costumes. They were so beautiful.

I thought to myself, hmm, do people always dress up like this, for Renaissance Festivals? I guess they do!  We are going to make costumes for ourselves for next time.
