New Exhibits at the Crealde School of Art

WINTER PARK, FL — Crealdé School of Art presents two new exhibitions in August:

 

August 14 to October 24:

Alice and William Jenkins Gallery­

11th Bi-annual Southeastern Photography Invitational: The Document.

From the strange and unusual to the typical, photography has been used to capture the world for ourselves and unnamed future viewers. The work of photographers Daniel Biferie, Perry Dilbeck, and Peter Singhofen will be featured in this exhibition curated by Crealdé’s Photography Department Director Rick Lang. Lecture and opening reception Friday, August 14, 7:00–9:30 p.m.

August 15:

Visiting Artist Workshop: The Holga Camera with Perry Dilbeck.


In conjunction with his participation in the Document exhibition, Art Institute of Atlanta instructor Perry Dilbeck will teach the art of creating fine art images using a simple “plastic” camera. Attendees will learn the history and use of the Holga or Diana-type cameras and examine various bodies of work made with this toy.

August 15 to September 19:

Showalter Hughes Community Gallery

­Summer ArtCamp Exhibition.

Featuring one completed project from each of the over 300 ArtCamp participants. Opening reception Saturday, August 15, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Curated by the ArtCamp staff.

Crealdé School of Art is a community based non-profit arts organization established in 1975. It features a year-round curriculum of over 90 visual arts classes for students of all ages, two galleries, the Contemporary Sculpture Garden, and award-winning outreach programs. Crealdé’s second campus, the Hannibal Square Heritage Center, opened in 2007 in partnership with the City of Winter Park, offers innovative programming in the arts and humanities with a focus on local history, cultural preservation, and southern folklore.
