The Sydney Opera House from a Boat

The Sydney Opera House is one of the most famous opera houses in the world. It seemed to me surreal as we flew in over the ocean, looking down at Sydney, at the opera house, at all the boats. It was amazing.

Sydney Opera House from a Boat!

I was asked by someone, “Did it dominate the landscape or did it fit in?” Well, it did dominate, in that it was the most beautiful thing I had seen for a long time. When we had gotten to the hotel we were staying at we found out that we could see the Sydney opera house right outside our window!!!

It was strange, to be able to walk around underneath its great arches, touch the white sides. It was so beautiful. My eyes were saying that we were looking at the opera house in Sydney and my brain couldn’t comprehend it. I couldn’t grasp that we were standing next to and in the Opera house. We stood on the harbor docks and looked at it for a long time. The wind brushed the hair out of my face and I am sure that the same feeling of awe that washed over me swept like a wave over the others. And then we went inside. We listened to an opera for three hours and I fell in love.
