March 26-27, Great Wolf Lodge-Traverse City will team up with fellow Great Wolf locations across the country in a bold Guinness Book of World Records attempt for the longest distance traveled on waterslides over a 24-hour period.

Here’s why we’re so excited …

    * The “World’s Largest Water SlideAThon” will attempt to beat the current record of 843 miles by designating one record attempting slide for visitors to ride at each of the 11 Great Wolf locations.

    * Great Wolf visitors who participate in the World Record attempt will have the opportunity to make a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters, which Great Wolf Lodge will match, for amounts collected up to $50,000!

    * The Guinness attempt celebrates the March openings of three new, first-of-their-kind waterslides at the Great Wolf Lodge locations at King’s Island, Kansas City, and Pocono Mountains – a $4 million total investment by the company.

At Great Wolf Lodge, we like to say that we always put fun first. And on Friday, March 26, we're planning on some record-setting fun: We're going to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for "Longest Distance Water Sliding in 24 Hours in Multiple Venues."

All 11 Great Wolf Lodge locations will simultaneously participate in the record-breaking attempt. The Great Wolf Lodge "World's Largest Waterslide-athon" will take place over 24 consecutive hours with one designated slide per resort. Every slider who descends the designated slide will count toward breaking the record for longest distance traveled on waterslides over a 24 hour period.

The current Guinness Book of Worlds Record for this attempt was set in Germany in 2007 with a total distance of 843 miles.

Participants in the Great Wolf Lodge "World's Largest Waterslide-athon" will be asked to donate $1 per slide, with proceeds from all locations going to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Great Wolf Resorts will be matching each donation, up to $50,000.

Guests: All registered guests at Great Wolf Lodge during the event will
have the chance to participate. We only ask that you help us raise funds by donating $1 per slide.

Non-Guests: Non guests will have the chance to participate as well. From 10:00 p.m. until 9:00 a.m. (local time), the general public may participate by paying a donation at the door. Please note that only the designated Waterslide-athon waterslide will be open throughout the night. The rest of the waterpark will be closed.
