The 2008 Hindi/Urdu/Punjabi LEARN Steering Committee invites
submission of proposals on topics relevant to Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi
language teaching, including the following areas:
Curriculum, syllabus, and course design
Evaluation, assessment, and testing
Technology-assisted language teaching and learning
Pedagogy of language instruction
Teacher's professional development
The learners (what works and what does not work)
Distance learning
Theoretical & applied linguistics
Cultural and language teaching
Language Immersion - Culture and Language

The Foreign Language Program Office of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the National Cryptologic School (NCS), and the Defense Language Institute (DLI) are pleased to announce that the Second Language Education and Resources Network (LEARN) Symposium for instructors of Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi will be held at DLI on December 4 - 5, 2008.

The LEARN Symposium provides a wonderful opportunity for instructors working for the U.S. Government to share their expertise in teaching Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi as a Second Language. Participants have a great venue to exchange methodologies and experiences in Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi language teaching, as well as an opportunity to network with colleagues among other federal government organizations, academia, and industry.
