COORDINATOR, GLOBAL STUDENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM/
ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR OF STUDY ABROAD

The Weissman Center for International Business at Baruch College, City University of New York, seeks a Coordinator for the Global Student Certificate Program who will also serve as Assistant to the Director of Study Abroad.


The Global Student Certificate (GSC) Program is an interdisciplinary, co-curricular undergraduate certificate program designed to help prepare Baruch College students acquire the knowledge and intercultural and interpersonal skills increasingly required to succeed in today's global economy.  The Study Abroad Office is the administrative center for all students wishing to pursue academic work at a foreign educational institution. The Global Student Certificate Program and the Study Abroad Office are both part of the Weissman Center for International Business, which is the academic center leading Baruch College's internationalization

Working under the direction of and reporting to the Director of Study
Abroad, the Coordinator of the GSC program/Assistant to the Director of Study Abroad will primarily be responsible for marketing the GSC program to the Baruch College community; recruiting, selecting, advising and evaluating all GSC participants; organizing and scheduling speakers for training workshops; researching, identifying and organizing trips to selected cultural and other internationally focused events in New York City; maintaining the database on GSC students and activities; compiling regular reports for the Director of Study Abroad on the activities of the GSC; and exploring and pursuing funding opportunities for the program. The
Coordinator of the GSC program/Assistant to the Director of Study Abroad will also work on projects related to the Weissman Center's international education programs, and will also assist the Director Study Abroad in more general administrative matters.


Qualifications:
§       Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree (or equivalent
experience) preferred, in a relevant field of study including
International Education, International Relations, International Business, International Economics or International Management.
§       International study, experience living abroad or internationally
focused degree strongly preferred.
§       Excellent organizational, management, and office skills.
§       Advanced computer efficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Publisher) and experience with web-based portals (the equivalent of Blackboard®) required; knowledge of photo editing software a plus.
§       Excellent written and oral communication skills, cultural
sensitivity and leadership skills, as well as a sense of humor a must.
§       Previous work experience with undergraduates in an institution of higher education required. Two-to-three years' experience advising students from a variety of backgrounds helpful.
§       Demonstrated experience working successfully in a high-traffic, high-demand environment and ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.


This position requires a highly motivated, well-organized, creative
self-starter. The successful applicant must be knowledgeable about and have an understanding of global issues.


This position is funded by a grant, and is secured for an initial period of three years but with a high likelihood of renewal. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience up to the funded maximum of $45,000.00, and includes an excellent benefits package. Relocation expenses are not available.
