DIRECTOR OF STUDY ABROAD

Loyola Marymount University is seeking a Director of Study Abroad.
Reporting to the Vice President for Undergraduate Education, the
Director of Study Abroad manages a staff of three and works closely with
18 faculty program directors.  The Director of Study Abroad provides
strategic and operational leadership for the study abroad programs.

Recently selected as one of the nation's best institutions for
undergraduate education and one of the most beautiful in the Princeton
Review's The Best 368 Colleges, Loyola Marymount University is a
comprehensive university situated near the Pacific Ocean in a suburban
area of west Los Angeles.  The main campus consists of 150 acres with
seven colleges and schools as well as residential housing. Enrollment
includes nearly 6,000 undergraduates and nearly 2,000 graduate students.

LMU is seeking candidates who are energized by an opportunity to
exercise their strategic acumen and creativity.  A thorough knowledge of
international higher education and a minimum of three to five years of
progressive management and leadership experience in a study abroad
office or international program setting are required.  Fluency or
facility in a second language is highly desirable.  Grant-writing
experience is a plus.  The most appealing candidates will bring a record
of developing strong relationships with faculty, building quality
programs and leading strategic change.  They will also display a
thorough understanding of the rules, regulations and policies that
affect international education and travel.

A master's degree is required.  A doctoral degree is desired.  LMU
