Carnegie Mellon University has an opening for Coordinator of Study Abroad
and International Programming .
This position will share responsibilities for student advising, primarily
focused on Study Abroad, and will coordinate the Office of International
Education's (OIE's) International Programming and study abroad funding
opportunities. Additional responsibilities will include serving as a
Designated School Official (DSO)/Foreign Student Advisor which will require
providing immigration-related advising services and precise record-keeping.
Working within a strong student affairs network, a developmental approach to
student advising is expected. The Coordinator for Study Abroad collaborates
closely with other OIE staff as well as other university personnel in
academic departments, the Career Center, the Intercultural Communication
Center, Health Services, the Counseling Center and Enrollment Services to
provide services to students. OIE is especially interested in qualified
candidates who can contribute, through their work/life experiences to the
diversity and excellence of the academic community.
