Coming in across the Serengeti plains for a landing in the small six-seater aircraft, I spotted a herd of something below. Gazelle? Impala? It was definitely some sort of antelope. And in the midst of them, something raised its long and graceful head far above the others. My heart skipped a beat — it was a giraffe! I was seeing a real, live giraffe in the wild, in its natural habitat in Tanzania, with my very own eyes!

What are the first things you think of, when you hear Lake District? If you’re anything like me, you think poetry, literature, art, Wordsworth, Windermere, Beatrix Potter, long walks on the fells, and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.  As well, you think of long, romantic vacations with your loved ones, walking in the footsteps of both the great literary stars and nature lovers who have flocked to the towns and villages of Cumbria for centuries.

You probably know by now how much we LOVE Great Wolf Lodge. It's so much fun to go there - a complete vacation, for our entire family. We recently visited the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, and had a blast (click here for rates and availability at Great Wolf Lodge Traverse City).

Bunratty Castle Mews B&B

We're so excited to share where we'll be staying on our VERY last night in Ireland. Where else, but the Bunratty Castle Mews B&B? It's a traditional B&B in Bunratty on the Low road only 5 minutes from Shannon Airport, run by the VERY friendly Dolores and Garry O' Toole. When I called Dolores to make arrangements, it was as if I was talking with an old friend. We can't wait to come stay!

With a BIG walk across the Spanish sierra on my May travel agenda, I thought it fitting to write about one of the most beautiful resort hotels in Spain, after all, I might need some pampering and R & R at the end of the Camino Santiago, an ancient 800km pilgrimage trail originating in France and ending in Santiago de Compostela in the Spanish north-west.

Magical Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge

It's always a pleasure for us to visit Great Wolf Lodge, especially our favorite location in Traverse City. We've been fortunate to visit during Howl-o-ween, and this past week we visited for Snowland, during a blizzard!
