I’ve often commented on the fact that having theme parks as our largest local employers adds to our local “magic” by allowing for greater ORLANDO to present performing arts events with Broadway quality cast-members and support teams. If you question the validity of that point, you have until September 16 to see the Garden Theatre’s (Winter Garden) presentation of the classic 1959 musical GYPSY as proof positive of the magnificent gifts presented to Central Florida by the performers and directors whose “day-job” is acting a role at a theme park.

It was the lighthouse, of course, that caught my attention. Those important beacons of light work even through the internet, apparently. I saw one of Gregory Bozik's photos, and was drawn in immediately. A Michigan photographer, he's got an incredible eye for sharing the beauty of our state - and, of course, of our deep love of the Great Lakes.

The reason I bring this up is because when he comes back to visit, he points out that words mean different things whether you are in the US or UK.
