I have traveled quite a bit in Scandinavia over the years, but I had yet to see all of the countries, the last one on my list being Iceland. Now I have been dying to see Iceland for quite some time, so I am not sure why it has taken me so many years to finally get there. Reykjavik is only a three hour nonstop flight from Stockholm via Iceland Air.

My whole life, I have been very small. My mother would always tell me to put on some more weight, because I was just so tiny. I swear, two months in Italy and I gained at least ten pounds. I just couldn’t stop eating the delicious food. Italian meals are very simple, but the ingredients used to make every meal are fresh.

Back in the day, science was often relegated to wealthy, self-funded explorers and “gentlemen scientists” the likes of Benjamin Franklin, Charles Darwin, and Isaac Newton. One could argue that they were the original “citizen scientists” but back then you had to have money and time to explore the world and formulate big thoughts.

Capri is a gorgeous island near Sorrento, Italy. Taking the boat there is a trip in itself. The cool spray breeze make it a good idea to bring a jacket, even in the warm weather.
