“Flesh & Faith: The Wild Meets the Way” is a visceral series in which each work hums with tension, demanding to know what it means to be both driven and deliberate, feral and faithful, all at once.
A graduate of the University of Florida’s Biological Illustration program, Xavier Moss blends influences from natural history imagery and contemporary expressionism. His work has increasingly gained attention throughout Central Florida for its emotionally charged visual storytelling and spiritual depth.
Through paintings of animals drawn from scripture, Moss reflects on the ways these creatures mirror human desires and contradictions, including humanity’s capacity to both wound and heal. The exhibition invites viewers into a contemplative space that encourages reflection on the paths we choose and the subtle pull toward something deeper.
Building on his earlier appearance in The WINN-WIN Emerging Artists Exhibition 2025, where this visual world was introduced through smaller, tightly composed works, “Flesh & Faith” expands in both scale and intensity. While still incorporating the colorful fluorescents and biblical visual storytelling that returning audiences may recognize, the new body of work creates a fuller experience of the journey.
