Fodor's See it Spain: The Practical Illustrated Guide, 3rd Edition - the Colorful Guide that Brings Spain to Life.

This beautiful guide is a treasure for both travelers to Spain, and readers who love Spain.  Fodor's See it Spain: The Practical Illustrated Guide, 3rd Edition, is a gorgeous guide to Spain. The photos are frame-worthy, and really give the reader a great sense of place.

The book is divided into geographic sections of Madrid, Around Madrid, Galicia/Asturias/Cantabria, Euskadi/Navarra/Aragon, Barcelona, Catalonia/Valencia/Murcia, Castile-Leon/La Rioja, Castile-La Mancha/Extremadura, Andaluia, and the Balearic Islands, each one explored through sights, walks, what to do, eating, and staying.

There are also sections on practicalities and maps (including detailed maps and colored regional maps). One of the most important sections is on understanding Spain, including the Best of Spain, Living Spain, and the Story of Spain. I love reading of the culture and history of Spain - I learned so much and really feel like I have a better understanding of Spain and its' culture.

There are walking and driving tours that are enticing. Also enticing are the entries for restaurants, sights, walks, and more. Each is written so concisely, with great detail for hours, etc., and yet each entry manages to convey the special spirit of the place.

There are sections for traveling with children, and also traveling with disabilities. I appreciate this in a guidebook!

For an introduction to Spain, that also turns into a great guidebook, I heartily recommend Fodor's See it Spain: The Practical Illustrated Guide, 3rd Edition - the Colorful Guide that Brings Spain to Life.
