On March 24th, 2026, Mills Gallery will present an insightful talk, titled “How To Get Into An Art Gallery: Beyond the White Walls”, at the Visual Arts Building at the University of Central Florida. The event will take place in the Auditorium, Room 132 at the university’s UCF School of Visual Arts and Design, and will feature a special Opening guest, Representative Anna Eskamani, a UCF alumna.
This engaging and informative session will provide students and aspiring professionals with a behind-the-scenes look at how artists and creatives can successfully enter and navigate the contemporary art world. The Mills Gallery team, represented by Founder Boris Garbe, Executive Director Juan Pablo Santa Luna, and Operations Assistant Ambar Santiago, will share practical insights on how artists get their work into galleries, what galleries look for when selecting artists, and the realities of building a sustainable career in the art industry.
The talk will also explore the broader ecosystem of the art world, making it relevant not only to practicing artists but also to students interested in gallery management, arts administration, consulting, curatorial work, and creative entrepreneurship. It will aim to demystify the gallery system and provide attendees with practical knowledge about the business side of art, an area often overlooked in traditional art education.
Students, emerging artists, and anyone interested in pursuing a career in the art world are encouraged to attend this free talk.
