Here at Wandering Educators, we are committed to supporting humanitarian efforts around the world. We're very pleased to participate in a philanthropic raffle called Passports with Purpose (PWP). Since 2008, Passports with Purpose has harnessed the efforts of travel writers and people who love travel to support causes near and dear to our hearts. In the previous two years, PWP efforts have benefited Heifer International and built a school in Cambodia. PWP was put together by some really committed fellow travel bloggers, Debbie, Pam, Beth, and Michelle,  and so many people and organizations in the world of travel have donated prizes and support.

As we all have traveled around the world, we've seen a plethora of instances where we wish we could help. Here's a way to do just that - and win some extraordinary prizes along the way.

This year, PWP is committed to building a village in India, through raising $50,000 to benefit LAFTI, based in Tamil Nadu, India.

LAFTI’s Mission: For more than 50 years, LAFTI’s founders – Krishnammal Jagannathan and S. Jagannathan – have been committed to helping Dalits (India’s untouchables), especially women, with projects that include land distribution, cultivation, adult training, youth housing and housing construction. For less than $2,000, LAFTI can build a home, for which the land title is given to the woman of the household. Passports with Purpose aims to raise enough money to build approximately 25 homes to create the Passports Village in Karunganni, located in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Our Prize:
You might remember that we just LOVE two related luggage lines, lilypond and fishpond. We interviewed John Le Coq, creator of both lines, about lilypond luggage - and included a video about how much we love our lilypond Meadowlark luggage. We also took the fishpond Bumpy Road Cargo Duffel on our trip to Ireland and Scotland this fall, and it was an incredible piece of luggage.
