I love to visit local theaters when I travel. It just makes for a great experience! We recently found the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, in Fort Myers, Florida. If you're heading down that way, here's the 2008-09 schedule.

 

 

BROADWAY PALM DINNER THEATRE’S SWEET 16TH SEASON IS NOW ON SALE!

Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre proudly announces its Sweet 16th Season. Tickets for all of the 2008 – 2009 Season productions are on sale.  Main stage show prices range from $25 to $53 with group and children’s prices available.  Performances are Tuesday through Sunday evenings (no Tuesday evening performances May through October) with selected matinees.

 

Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (November 20 – December 27, 2008)

It’s 1954 and two army buddies turned show biz partners follow a duo of singing sisters to Vermont where the girls are scheduled to perform over Christmas.  Bob, Phil and the girls decide to put on a show to save the inn run by their former commanding officer.  The Irving Berlin score includes Happy Holidays, Sisters, Blue Skies and the title song, White Christmas.

Singin’ in the Rain (December 31 – February 14, 2009)

The classic MGM musical about Hollywood making way for the “talkies”.  Don Lockwood, Kathy Seldon and Cosmo Brown take center stage in this all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza.  You’ll hear Good Mornin’, Make ‘Em Laugh, Fit as a Fiddle and Singin’ in the Rain.

All Shook Up (February 19 – April 11, 2009)

A new musical comedy combining your all-time favorite Elvis hits with a whole new story full of hilarious twists and turns.  Features the hits Heartbreak Hotel, Burning Love, Hound Dog, Don’t Be Cruel, A Little Less Conversation, Blue Suede Shoes and many more.

 

Wedding Singer (April 16 – June 6, 2009)

It’s 1985 and Robbie Hart is New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer.  He’s the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar.  Broken-hearted, Robbie makes every wedding he plays a disaster…until he meets a waitress named Julia who wins his heart.  Unfortunately, Julie is about to get married.  Unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a lifetime, he’s going to lose the girl of his dreams.

 

Peter Pan (June 11 – August 8, 2009)

Join Peter Pan, Wendy, Michael, John and Tinker Bell in a high flying musical adventure.  Follow them to Neverland where they live an exhilarating life free of grown up rules.  Find out what happens as they face the cruel Captain Hook and his bumbling pirates. There is a summer special – children 18 and under are just $18 for dinner and the show!

 

Broadway Palm Theater Peter Pan

The Off Broadway Palm Theatre is Broadway Palm’s second performance venue.  It’s a 90-seat general admission theatre off the main lobby.  The Off Broadway Palm’s 13th Season begins October 16, 2008 and runs through March 29, 2009.  Ticket prices range from $23 to $45.  Performances are Tuesday through Sunday evenings with selected matinees.

Forbidden Broadway (October 16 – December 20, 2008) A fall-down funny, musical roast of Broadway’s biggest hits, brightest stars and notorious flops.  In this long-running hit off-Broadway musical revue, Broadway’s greatest musical legends meet Broadway’s greatest satirist in this hilarious, loving and endlessly entertaining tribute to some of the theatre’s greatest stars and songwriters.  Includes song parodies from Fiddler on the Roof, Rent, Wicked, Cats and more!

 

Church Basement Ladies (January 15 – March 29, 2009) A hilarious musical comedy that celebrates church basement kitchens everywhere and the women that work there.  Whether it’s the senior matriarch of the kitchen or the bride-to-be learning to arrange things in proper order, everyone will recognize the funny and down-to-earth characters.  The humor is delicious, the music is toe-tapping and the cast provides some heavenly entertainment!

 

Broadway Palm Children’s Theatre shows are fun for everyone!  The chef’s buffet includes children’s favorites like hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, french fries and more.  All productions are matinees with lunch at Noon and show at 1:00 p.m., unless indicated (* Indicates early matinee with lunch at 10:30 a.m. and show at 11:30 a.m.).  Tickets are just $15 for all ages.

Pinocchio (November 28, 29 & December 2*, 5*, 7, 9*, 12*, 13, 16*, 17*, 19*, 23, 26, 2008)  The adventures of a wooden puppet yearning to become a real boy.  

 

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (April 24*, 26, 29* & May 1*, 3, 7*, 8*, 9, 13*, 15*, 17, 21*, 22*, 23, 28*, 29*, 31, 2009) Four young adventurers playing hide-and-seek stumble upon an enchanted wardrobe that takes them to a spectacular universe knows as Narnia.

 

Disney’s Mulan, Jr. (June 26, 28 & July 2, 3, 10, 12, 17, 18, 24, 26, 30, 31 & August 2, 2009) Travel back to the legendary days of ancient China with the stage adaptation of Disney’s Mulan.
