If, like the majority of folk, long hours in the office or hard at work elsewhere has become just too much to handle – there is a wonderful cure for that – last minute holiday deals! One moment you could be sat at your desk tearing your hair out and cursing the day your boss was born, the next you could be exploring the country side or enjoying an expertly crafted cocktail somewhere fancy. Beach holidays aren’t for everyone so today we outline a few different types of holiday to suit all tastes…

City break

If time is limited and you like to explore a new, exciting and bustling metropolis, then a city break may be your best bet for a last minute getaway. Where you can jet off to last minute will of course depend upon a couple of factors – where you are in the world, and your bank balance for starters! One thing is to be sure though – a city break is always a good option and just getting out of your city or town can make all the difference. Just a little time away is all that is needed to recharge those batteries. So, whether you are flying off to the sophisticated cool of Paris, the grandiose streets of Florence, or just a city a few hours drive away – experiencing a new and exciting place is a great idea for a break. Plus, you will be able to find a wealth of affordable accommodation options, which means you wont have to break into that piggy bank of yours.

Have your own Tour de France…and it doesn’t have to be in France

With Bradley Wiggins becoming one of the most popular men in the UK after cycling into the nation’s heart and Lance Armstrong being in the news for all the wrong reasons, there is one thing for sure – fans of cycling are on the up. Not only is it exciting to watch, but it is great fun to compete in yourself. If you have been bitten by the cycling bug, why not opt for a cycling holiday? There are great bike trails all across the world depending on your abilities and just think, you can eat all you want in the evenings, safe in the knowledge that you deserve it!

Road trip

If the freedom of the open road is what you crave, then really, the world is your oyster. Grab a last minute flight to the country or region of your choice, sort out a hire car, and then be on your way. This is a relatively inexpensive way to explore and enjoy all of the sites of a country taking in as many places as time constraints will allow. This is the perfect option if your ideal getaway combines cityscapes with rolling countryside and the chance for many a wonderful encounter with a local – most likely when you have to repeatedly stop and ask for directions!
