Like to find out the latest scoop on destinations, restaurants, and more? Are you always looking for great travel tips, whether it is from celebrities or your neighbors? I've got the site for you! Simonseeks is a fantastic travel resource - one that has you digging deeper and reading more, just to keep learning from people who've been there! I love it!

We were lucky enough to sit down and talk with Rebecca Kelly of Simonseeks, about the site, contributing to the travel knowledge database, and more. Here's what she had to say...

WE: Please tell us about your site, Simonseeks...

RK: Simonseeks is a travel website that allows keen travellers, journalists and celebrities to share their advice and experiences about all things travel. Simonseeks has also appointed a number of experts to provide authentic reviews and ratings of hotels, restaurants and more on specific destinations.

WE: What was the genesis of your site?

RK: The concept of Simonseeks was devised by entrepreneur Simon Nixon, founder of Moneysupermarket.com. Simon is now focusing on building Simonseeks into the most successful quality travel guide site in the world. All of this is based on Simon’s own passion for travel and many a frustrating, laborious experience researching the perfect trip online!

The aim here at Simonseeks is to make high-quality, independent mini travel guides freely available to everyone, whatever their travel requirements.

WE: Who are your contributors/location experts?

RK: Our contributors are members of the public who love to travel who can write article and guides with a first-hand knowledge.  As long as the guides sent into Simonseeks meet the quality standards, anyone can write for the site and also share in the sales commission.

Simonseeks experts are distinguished travel writer. The primary qualification we look for in an expert is an in-depth knowledge of the destination in question, plus integrity, enthusiasm and good judgment. Each expert either lives in their specific destination, or makes regular visits, and has got to know it over a significant period of time.

Simonseeks reputable experts include Fred Mawer and Lee Marshall. With over 20 years of experience, Fred has written numerous articles on Amsterdam for the travel sections of newspapers such as The Daily Telegraph, Mail on Sunday and The Independent. Today, Fred works here at Simonseeks amongst the editorial team and is our expert for Amsterdam. Lee Marshall, our expert on Rome, has live in the historic city since 1984 and has written article after article on Italy for Condé Nast Traveller and other publications.

WE: How can readers contribute to Simonseeks?

RK: To contribute, all you need to do is register, follow the step by step instructions to write your profile, submit your guide and upload your pictures. All of this is free and once your first guide has been published, you can check the My Simonseeks area to read your reviews and ratings, and see how much you have earned.

WE: How is Simonseeks different from other travel sites?

RK: What makes Simonseeks unique is that the contributors are equal partners. Simonseeks is a completely new approach to travel writing on the internet. Unlike other travel sites, our expert recommendations provide a thorough knowledge and unbiased reviews of destinations, hotels and more.

WE: You've also got celebrity guides - can you please share more about this?

RK: Simonseeks has more than 20 celebrities from the music, food, television, radio and creative industries writing for the site. Celebrities include Cliff Richard, Dolly Parton, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and Raymond Blanc. Just like any other guides on Simonseeks, you can rate and comment to have your say on guides written by celebrities.

WE: Is there anything else you'd like to share with us?

RK: In April this year, Simonseeks launched our new expert destinations. Our experts have been busy writing in-depth reviews on luxury Rome Hotels to the best hotels in Paris. We are also in the process of launching restaurants and attractions areas to compliment our city destination guides.

WE: Thanks so much, Rebecca! Simonseeks is a great resource - we appreciate you sharing it with our readers!
