Passports with Purpose: Building a School in Cambodia

We're so happy here at Wandering Educators to support humanitarian efforts around the world. This will be the second year that we're participating in a raffle called Passports with Purpose - a raffle with incredible travel gifts, from travel bloggers all around the world. Started by Beth Whitman, Pam Mandel, Debbie Dubrow, and Michelle Duffy, this effort by travel bloggers to change the world is an incredible challenge.  Last year, Passports with Purpose aided Heifer International. This year? Even better...

Passports with Purpose will be building a school with American Assistance for Cambodia (AAfC), an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving opportunities for the youth and rural poor in Cambodia. By raising $13,000 we can build a school in rural Cambodia! Help us support this cause by participating in this year's Passports with Purpose.

How It Works

Travelbloggers everywhere are hosting giveaways in support of this fundraising effort.

For each $10 donation that you make to AAfC, you will will be entered in the giveaway(s) of your choice. The fundraiser closes on December 21 and all proceeds go directly to AAfC.

What are we donating? TWO GREAT PRIZES!

FIRST -

$100 gift card to BedandBreakfast.com

We have an excellent B&B Editor on our site, Marti Mayne. She's always posting articles about great B&Bs around the country. Marti helped arrange a $100 gift card from BedandBreakfast.com

BedandBreakfast.com has the most comprehensive database: Worldwide listings include bed and breakfasts, B&B homestays, country and urban inns, guest houses, lodges, cabins, historic hotels, small resorts, guest ranches, and farmhouse accommodations. B&B database searches allow you to find the ideal bed and breakfast inn, whether you are looking by location, amenities (from dataports to whirlpool tubs), detailed search (pet/family friendly, access for the disabled, business travel, etc), recipes, special packages, last-minute availability, or BedandBreakfast.com gift card acceptance.

BedandBreakfast.com gift cards are welcomed at more than 4000 inns in the US and Canada.

This is a gift card and can be mailed anywhere in the world, but must be used at participating Inns in North America.

Thank you, Marti and BedandBreakfast.com for your very generous donation to Passports with Purpose!

SECOND -

$150 Gift Certificate to Restaurant.com

We've long used Restaurant.com to get discounts while we dine out. We have purchased 6 - $25 gift certificates for this prize, and will email the gift certificates to the winner. You can search for restaurants by location - Restaurant.com has thousands of restaurants listed, all over the U.S. Restaurants will often specify a minimum price you must spend (i.e., $35) for each $25 gift certificate, and tipping is of course extra. There are some blackout dates per restaurant.

Restaurant.com serves as the community matchmaker, introducing great restaurants to great people. From appetizers to dessert, from wine to dinner, Restaurant.com helps restaurant owners promote the new and unique aspects of their restaurants while providing diners with great value in a fun, new and cost effective way. Your favorite restaurant is in your neighborhood – maybe you just don't know it yet.

We have found many great new restaurants, as well as have used these gift certificates at our favorite restaurants. We love it!

We will be happy to email these anywhere in the world, but they must be used within the U.S., and by November 2010.
