The Indiana based 2010 Lotus World Music and Arts Festival season begins with a night of music from India, Argentina, and the U.S. Americana songwriter Carrie Newcomer will perform with world-renowned Indian sarod masters Amjad Ali Khan and his sons Amaan and Ayaan. Newcomer met the musicians during her tour of India last autumn, and will also be recording with the Khans during their visit.

"Amjad Ali Khan is the master of the Sarod. Smaller than a sitar, it has 19 strings. Accompanied by his two sons ... they created a 57-string three-man symphony orchestra." - London Times

Argentine tango ensemble Tangamente, led by Alfredo Minetti, is also on the bill.
