Trad Night By Candle Light –Earth Hour 2010

Saturday  27th March 8.30pm – 9.30pm Irish time

Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government John Gormley T.D announced a new initiative - Trad Night by Candlelight – in Temple Bar this week.  Last year 4,000 cities and towns in 88 countries across the world- the greatest mass participation event in history -- took part, when over one billion people turned off their lights for one hour to highlight climate change.

Trad Night by Candlelight will be a centre piece of this year's Earth Hour in Ireland where pubs and clubs throughout the country on Saturday March 27th will be asked to turn their lights off for at least an hour and celebrate Earth Hour in an uniquely Irish way with a traditional session at 8.30pm.

Trad Light by Candlelight will take place in the following Temple Bar Pubs:

The Arlington

The Auld Dubliner

Farringtons

The Foggy Dew

Oliver St. John Gogarty

The Morgan Hotel

Palace Bar

Porter House

The Quays

Temple Bar Pub

Vat House
