New Season Begins at Stages Theatre Company Starting with an Empowering Classic from Nancy Carlson

HOPKINS, Minn. – Ready to start a new season of inspiring shows, Stages Theatre Company kicks off a season of classics with “I Like Me.” Based on the beloved book by local author Nancy Carlson, “I Like Me” opens at the Hopkins Center for the Arts on Friday, Sept. 25.

Nancy Carlson, I Like Me

A favorite for more than 20 years, “I Like Me” is the story of a pig named Louanne who, along with her friends, discovers self-esteem and the importance of being true to oneself. Carlson believes this is an important message to convey to the audience. “I believe people will feel good about themselves when the play is done,” she says.

Fans of Carlson will have the chance to meet her and have their book signed after the 7 p.m. performance on Sept. 25 and the 1 p.m. performance on Oct. 17.

The cast will perform at Toddler Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Mall of America on Sept. 29.

“I Like Me” opens Friday, Sept. 25 and runs through Sunday, Oct. 25.
