Pewabic workshops let kids bring holiday creations home
Fall and winter pottery workshops begin Sept. 25

Pewabic Pottery is offering a variety of holiday-inspired workshops designed to teach children how to have fun with clay while allowing them to bring home their own creation in time for the fall and winter holidays.

The youth workshops will be held on select Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Workshops include:

    * Sept. 25—Ghoulish Ghost
    * Oct. 2—Leaf Press Serving Bowl
    * Nov. 20—Winter Solstice Luminary
    * Dec. 4—Holiday Ornaments

In addition, Pewabic is offering the following “Winter Break Wednesday” youth workshops:

    * Dec. 22—Chinese New Year Dragon
    * Dec. 29—Hot Cocoa Mug

Winter break workshops are also offered from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

“These workshops are a great way to expose children to the art of pottery and let them express their creativity,”
said Meredith Duckworth, community and youth programs supervisor at Pewabic. “It’s always fun to see them start with a ball of clay and turn it into a really beautiful gift for someone they love.”

The cost for workshops is $30 per child or $40 for parent and child. Projects will be ready for pickup four to six weeks following each class. Pre-registration is required. Please call (313) 822-0954, ext. 100 to register.
