As you may know from perusing the site, we've partnered with a variety of international food purveyors. We've really been enjoying ordering from them and sampling these high quailty items! I am just so happy when the delivery truck rolls to a stop and we get another huge box of food.

Italian Shrimp Pasta

One of our partners, Olive Nation, supplies specialty imported Italian food, from small farmers in Italy. We've featured them before and are truly enjoying the recipes on their site!

Imported Italian Food - Olive Oil & Pasta

I ordered from them last week, and was amazed at the great variety of pasta shapes available. It was so much fun to look, and decide...

We ordered several kinds of pasta, and a delicious extra-virgin olive oil. When it came, we opened the oil and smelled it - Olive Nation was right - there IS something special about small farmers, fresh olive oil, and high quality olive pressing! The olive oil smelled so fruity and delicious!

So, I dove into the recipes section on their site, and found several that fit our local vegetable supply right now. The amish farms down the road have fresh zucchini and squash, onions, and tomatoes. We didn't put the tomatoes in this particular recipe (saving those for BLTs), but we did have fresh vegetables that were picked an hour before I made the dinner. I adapted and combined several recipes from their site, to make a glorious shrimp, onion, zucchini, and squash pasta. It was very quick, and oh - so - delicious! We cooked the ingredients in the olive oil, and then drizzled the olive oil on top after plating it. YES, high-quality olive oil DOES make a difference! It was a delicious, memorable meal - eaten lakeside, in the gloaming.

I can't wait to see what we'll eat next...

Our package from Olive Nation came a couple of days ago, and we made this dish with chicken.  Amazing pasta.  We also tried the olive oil on a fresh vegetable dish Jessie made.  It was absolutely delicious.
