We've just posted a new video about World Endeavors' volunteer in Ecuador program to our page on Youtube, and I wanted to share it with everyone on Wandering Educators.  The video profiles Maggie, a college sophomore who spent two months over the summer volunteering at an orphanage for girls in Guayaquil, Ecuador.  Maggie talks about her experience arriving in Ecuador, learning to speak Spanish, and getting to know the girls, as well as about how she learned of her striking resemblance to a certain famous Ecuadorian woman!

World Endeavors provides year-round volunteer opportunities in Ecuador in orphanage assistance, teaching, special education, deaf education, and environmental and wildlife conservation.  Volunteer in Ecuador

    Hi Girls,

Thanks for sharing this video -   I was in Ecuador years ago with EIL, the Experiment in International Living -in Quito and seeing this video brought back some very lovely memories.

I absolutely agree with Meggi - just do it!

Thanks for the comment, Karenne.   Like Maggie says in the video, you can always think of reasons not to step outside of your comfort zone and do something like this, but if you want to do it, you just have to go for it! (And of course after you've gone abroad once, you'll almost certainly want to go again!)
