I'd like to introduce our New ESL Tips Editor to our Wandering Educators...Eva Buyuksimkesyan and her incredible resource site for ESL teachers: A Journey in TEFL: My Adventure in Teaching. Full of tips, resources, and practical advice, Eva's site is a must-read for ESL teachers. We're lucky and honored that she's our  ESL Tips Editor. Here's what Evan had to share about her site...

WE: Please tell us about your site, A Journey in TEFL...

EB: I’ve been teaching English for more than 20 years. I’m currently teaching at Esayan Armenian High School in Istanbul. I studied TEFL at university but until the last minute I was not sure what I really wanted to do.

WE: What led you into teaching EFL? What are some of your favorite resources?

EB: Some experienced teachers told me that once a person started teaching it would be hard to give up later. And it was almost the same for me.

After becoming a teacher, I kept looking ways to improve my teaching and all the PD courses, seminars made me realize that teaching, especially , teaching English was so much fun. I love teaching English because it promotes creativity and it enables teachers to bring the real world into the classroom. So everything around us can be an inspiration for a new lesson.

WE: Is there anything else you'd like to share with us?

EB: I started my blog A Journey in TEFL almost one and a half year ago and it is part of my professional development. I share lesson ideas, links and from time to time I speak my mind there. It is also a great way to have a PLN (personal learning network) which is a wonderful privilege for teachers of 21st century.

WE: Thanks so much, Eva, and welcome as our new ESL Tips Editor!
