Maui's endless summer

Maui is like an endless summer. Three weeks living in Hawaii should be fabulous. My living room view has a perfect view of the ocean so I can see all the para-surfers going along the water. All the locals here are very chilled out and relaxed like they don’t have a care in the world. I woke up early and looked out my window to see people at seven am already para-surfing.

Early morning walks along the beach are so nice. The water is a deep blue colour, but if I walk further down along the beach it’s a clearer clean blue. I see many people sipping on pina coladas or strawberry water out of little pink straws, wearing thin, soft cover-ups, their hair sun-bleached and forever salty from the seawater. The air smells of sunscreen, fresh fruits, and saltwater. The dark volcanic sand is so soft, and great for making sand castles.

There is an Indian cuisine stand on the beach that smells so delicious and makes me so hungry. I see people reading and tanning on the beach, and even a guy doing push-ups. Only one day in and I can tell already that we’re going to need more time here than we have!
