When it comes to road trips in Europe, it’s hard to find something that feels unique. As one of the most touristy locations on the planet, Europe has been done, and done over again. It’s earned its reputation, of course, as a treasure trove of art, food, and culture. But how can you road trip Europe and come home having experienced something new? Look no further. We have just the trip for you.

During my time studying abroad in London, I had the chance to try some different types of food. Some of it surprised me, because it actually tasted better than it looked. I, of course, had my fair share of fish and chips from a variety of places. There were times when I missed the food back in the states, and now there are times when I miss the food from London. I have put together some information about what I learned from eating in London while studying abroad.

During my time in London, I had the chance to see several memorials and statues. Some of them were planned ,such as the Queen Victoria Memorial just outside of Buckingham Palace, but several of them I came across while I was exploring London. September 11 was a day many of us from the United States will never forget, but I had no idea they created a memorial anywhere else in the world. It was an eye-opening experience to see what it means to live in a global community.

Some of the most recognizable abbeys and cathedrals in the UK are visited often, but taking some time to visit other abbeys and cathedrals provides you with a chance to see a variety of less crowded places. During my time in London, I saw three abbeys and two cathedrals. Why should you make time to explore abbeys and cathedrals? You have the opportunity to enjoy history and see it come to life. You won’t want to pass up the chance to experience a unique part of the United Kingdom!

Although musicals are performed across the United States, London provides a unique opportunity to see a vast number of musicals in one city. During my time studying abroad in London, I saw four musicals and one play. I never thought I would like musicals, but the performances were remarkable. I’ve put together some information about the musicals I saw and information on finding current musicals. You have the opportunity to enjoy award-winning performances and see stories come to life. You won’t want to pass up the chance to experience a unique part of London.

London has many museums, but not all of them cost to visit. I visited some free museums and some that charged to visit. Most museums were only a few pounds, but a few, such as Buckingham Palace, cost quite a bit more, but were worth the money to see. I’ve put together some information about the museums I visited, including a short description, where they are located, and if there is a cost for the museum ($=cost a fee, Free=no charge).

St. John’s (one of my favorite places in the world!) has a wide variety of places to eat, from small to large, ethic to local, cheap eats to gourmet cuisine. But where are the best places to feed your kids – and yourself? No overplayed children’s menus here – these are great restaurants that serve excellent food.

Here are my top 10 family-friendly restaurants on the Rock
