Erarta Contemporary Art Museum and Gallery

This art gallery usually shocks many tourists because they did not think that St. Petersburg has a contemporary art space. It is the largest of its kind in Russia, which is more than enough reason to attract people who are interested in art. It is located in Vasilevskiy Island, which would have been unknown to many if not for this modern art museum. There are more than 2,000 works that are available on their permanent displays. Meanwhile, there are also seasonal exhibitions throughout the year.

Imperial Porcelain Factory

St. Petersburg, for many years, has been one of the most esteemed destinations for European porcelain. One of the places that proves this is the Imperial Porcelain Factory. It was built in 1744 and has been known for making pieces that adorned the residences of kings and queens. Today, it is known for its hand-painted ceramics. If you’re clumsy, then make sure you have the right travel insurance policy, just in case!

Letny Sad at the Russian Museum

Also known as the summer garden, some might find it bizarre to visit the palace when it is winter, only because of the way it is named. At a small size of 12 hectares, this is known as one of the best parks in St. Petersburg. There are fountains in the park, but they are closed during the winter months. During the summer, this is a place where most locals find retreat from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. From the trees lining the alleys to the marble statues that adorn the garden, this is one of the hidden gems of the city

The Grand Market of Russia

This is one of the newest attractions in Russia, which is exactly the reason why most guidebooks still do not mention it. It is an interactive museum which stretches to 800 square meters. Here, you can look at small-scale models of the entirety of Russia – buildings, forests, trains that run, oceans and rivers, people, and even a circus with an escaped elephant! It took five years and more than a hundred people to complete.

Baltika Brewery

Do you love beer? You should not think of any other place to visit than the Baltika Brewery. The brewery is recognized as the largest in Eastern Europe. It was only established in 1990 and by 1996, the company has gained the position as the largest Russian beer maker. The tour will provide you with an opportunity to see the meticulous process of how beer is made. Of course, a tour wouldn’t be complete without having to sample their beers at the finish.
