I used to date a guy who wished his life was a movie. Not for the whole picture-perfect aspect (although I’m sure he –or anyone- wouldn’t be opposed), but for the soundtrack. In a state whose motto is: "Live free, or die,” one might think of a brash countryside filled with gun shops on either side. The simplicity of New Hampshire’s slogan understates the beautiful scenery, kind-hearted people, and perhaps makes it sound a bit boring—which it is anything but.

Never mind the chocolate we’d picked up, or the lingonberry jam…we wanted hot food.
Too often, history goes by the wayside when we're inundated with fresh news. But really, history - and life - are composed of small moments, built layer by layer. I was a teen when my cousins moved down to the Appalachian Mountain region and we went to visit.
