At a recent tasting through a gamut of wines from La Rioja, Spain’s crown jewel among its 50-plus wine regions, I had an epiphany: I’ll never be a true wine connoisseur until I learn to spit after swirling and sipping.
It seems the nation has been caught up in a Frozen frenzy. Frozen is the highest grossing animated film of all time, the songs are everywhere, and it has become difficult to speak the phrase “let it go,” without prompting a resounding chorus from all those nearby.
History can be delicious.
To experience another culture, even another time period, it helps to start with your taste buds. That’s what my kids learned on a recent trip through southwestern Germany, which included a stop in the small town of Aulendorf, in Baden-Württemberg.
