A Paradise

When you are asked, “Where in China you would like to go?” I bet the majority of people would answer Shanghai or Beijing without hesitation, because they are the very few well-known cities of China, and they tend to represent the modern and fast developing China.

I am very privileged to have the opportunity to read Dr. Séverine Autesserre’s book Peaceland: Conflict Resolution and the Everyday Politics of International Intervention.

This is what happened to me yesterday on the bus.

As a rising senior undergraduate student political science major, I felt the urgency to secure an internship for the last summer of my undergraduate career. Therefore, I jumped on the bandwagon in Washington, D.C., the most politically driven and motivated place in this nation.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival started in Washington, D.C. this year from March 20. My friends and I were excited to enjoy the spirit of spring brought by the blossoming trees.

I traveled to Tibet last summer for almost two weeks. While I was mesmerized by the heaven-like nature there, I was more intrigued by the living conditions Tibetans suffer, especially the children.

I was very privileged to be chosen by The David Project, a Boston-based Pro-Israel advocacy organization, to travel to Israel with other 31 campus leaders from different colleges from around the US.
