Why You Need to See Queensrÿche Live

Dynamic on stage, Queensrÿche is a phenomenal band, garnering new fans and pleasing old fans on their latest tour. We saw them this past week in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at 20 Monroe Live. It was a great venue for the bands that played; I personally cannot think of a better place to see a band. We were very close to the stage, right up against the barrier. And even people standing in the back said they could see the electric group.

The two opening acts, Eve To Adam, and John 5, set the mood for their show. Both were extremely talented, different, and sold everyone in the audience that an opening act could not only be just as good as the main show, but will bring a whole audience together as new fans.

The lighting throughout Queensrÿche set was stunning; it was truly an art form of its own. With side screens showing complex designs, the visuals added a great story to the concert. Lights flowed with the songs so easily, matching the fast-paced nature of the group.

The vocals were on point. The bassist and guitarists, Parker Lundgren, Michael Wilton, and Eddie Jackson, had some great pipes. But of course, the main award in this department goes to the lead, Todd La Torre. He belted like nothing I’ve heard. Each note was melodic and focused. It was quite beautiful, in a way. The crowd absolutely adored it. Heads were thrashing, bodies swaying, led by the drums (Scott Rockenfield).

Each musician got to have their time in the spotlight, showing off how talented they really are, and how they came together to make something even better. They shined together, clearly passionate and thrilled about the music they make, the tunes they play, and how it affects the crowd.
