Well, there aren’t words to describe this product, but I just have to make do...and somehow tell you how amazing this hammock is without making up new phrases.

See, I had been looking for a hammock for years, but nothing ever really fit what I needed. Something cute that fit my style, something light that I could carry easily, something that I could camp with, and something that I felt safe and comfortable in. Enter the Nakie hammock. It’s the world's first recycled hammock that is light, compact, and travel-ready. I was beyond happy. It fit criteria I didn’t even know I had. The fact that it is eco-friendly and from a small business was a cherry on top of an amazing deal. And they won’t run you 1k like some brands. In fact, it won’t even cost you $100.

Nakie: The Best Eco-Friendly Hammock

I took some time to really try this product out, but before even opening the bag, I was impressed. Recycled plastic creates the hammock itself, and it’s not what you think when you think recycled—not the ugly weird colored shoes or the beiges that are just a little off. This product has a range of interesting colors; everyone can find their perfect style. My Nakie hammock is purple and blue, which works really well with pictures in the daytime, when the blue sky matches my hammock.

Now, for the real tests:

1. Strength

This thing, it doesn't look as strong as it is. I’m not very skinny, and I’ve always had a fear of things breaking from my weight. So I make judgement calls. I was almost scared to try this at first, since it’s thin and is strapped around something, but boy, this thing HELD. Two people, in fact! And I’m sure it could take more. Once I tried it for the first time, I wasn’t concerned at all. I completely forgot about the worries I had, which has never happened.

2. Comfort

This hammock is very comfortable on its own. You can tell it was made for camping or activities where you might not have the extra space to bring cushions or blankets. It’s slightly breezy but keeps  enough wind out, something that would be great for all seasons. I’d say while comfort items would be a great addition, they aren't needed.

3. Size

This is COMPACT. For all that comes with it and how big it gets, it will fit in most backpacks and suitcases with plenty of extra room. My only complaint is that the strap braces could use a separate bag that’s attachable to the actual bag. I’m a person who loses stuff easily and I could see myself forgetting a strap. But it hasn’t happened yet, so I can’t say anything.

4. Grip

This is a hammock that has straps that adjust to a tree or pole or whatever you can get your hands on. It has nobs or notch type things that help with it being sturdy.
I made sure to test it out for if it slipped down or came loose at any point, and the many times I tested, it stayed completely as it was in the beginning. I feel like this strap will keep me safe, it will help me with my taxes, and give me relationship advice.

5. Price

You really can’t beat the price. Running at $89 dollars per eco-friendly hammock, it’s upwards of $300 less than other companies. Yes, It’s not cheap, but it’s affordable, and extremely well made.It will last you much longer than the $20 hammock at your local chain store.

6. Eco-friendly

Nakie hammocks are created from 100% post consumer recycled plastic bottles. Each Nakie hammock is crafted from 37 post consumer plastic bottles pulled from landfill. 37!!!! That seems like a lot but also not, considering they can make a whole hammock with just that much landfill. It makes a difference. It’s a great feeling, knowing you helped the environment by going on a shopping spree. And it’s not crunchy or made out of strung bottle caps; it’s actual, soft, light, heavy duty fabric. I’m fact it holds 500 pounds, so you and your S/O could cuddle up...and maybe even have room for a pet.
Rating: duh, 5/5. It’s made from BOTTLES!!!

Overall rating 5/5 stars!

This is a great investment. A hammock like this is very essential for camping, travel, or your backyard. It can be set up in just a few minutes, it's light, it’s cute, and it's good for our planet.

If I haven’t convinced you by now, you’re a lost cause. Hammock up, my friends.
