If you only have time for one small-town festival this summer and you want it to be filled with enough silliness to make you forget all the serious stuff going on in your life, consider the Annual "Cheeseburger in Caseville"  Festival. It is too big for a weekend and runs every year in August. As you reach the city limits, you’ll be greeted by more pink flamingos than flock anywhere else north of Miami as the small beach town of Caseville morphs into Key North.

Originally called Michilimackinac Island, there were at least fifty-five spellings to twist newcomers’ tongues around the lyrical name. To make life easier, Michilimackinac was shortened to Mackinac and later, when the British arrived to stake a claim to the fur trade, they began spelling it "Mackinaw" which was in accord with its pronunciation.

Before heading out for our final full day in Sydney, Bob and I debated how to spend our short remaining time. I suggested the New South Wales Art Gallery, the Australian Museum, St. Andrews' Cathedral, the Sydney Aquarium, and the Sydney Tower.  I marked these on a map – in the order that made the most sense.  Bob vetoed the museum, art gallery, and aquarium.

“But, that only leaves us the Tower and St. Andrews.  We'll be done in no time,” I protested.

“Then we can add the others as time permits,” he replied.

On our third day in Sydney the thermometer climbed to 75 degrees by 8:30 a.m. when we left the Menzies. We asked the concierge for directions to the Museum of Sydney which appeared to be a few blocks away.  Following his instructions and armed with a city map, we headed off, oblivious to our fate - we would be lost within five minutes.
