Foodie Find: The Best Restaurant in Chagrin Falls, Ohio

You must, you must plot a course to the picturesque little city of Chargrin Falls in Ohio; Flying, driving however far I assure a foodie find of the finest kind.

It is coming on dusk as we make our way with old friends to Violante’s Restaurant in Chagrin Falls in a mood to enjoy an evening of good food and wine.

Tom Violante, chef extraordinaire, prepares original Italian dishes in his kitchen. My choice is seafood in a sumptuous sauce over pasta, generously served on a large white plate. But first there is a crisply green salad with nice leafy variety and crusty hot bread and butter. We are offered a bottle of house wine. It doesn’t get any better than this, I think to myself as we friends laugh and eat together.

Wait! There’s Polish Cheescake with Raspberry Sauce for dessert. This is Linda Violante’s new signature dish. This is the dessert I’d heard about from afar. I try my first bite, then my second - there must be a secret ingredient in this most delectable of cheesecakes. Indeed, there must be.

Now, what’s the Italian word for delectable?
