Golden temple is a famous religious place in India, which is located in the center of the Amritsar city. It is also known as Harmandir sahib. This building is made purely with gold and is surrounded by a beautiful pool of water. I visit there by road with my family because it is 150 km away from my city.

I have visited this place many times in my life, and enjoy the peaceful environment.

My brother went to the temple yesterday and captured this photo.

The temple has a rich history and is the symbol of peace, unity, and equality.

This is a holy place, and people from all over the world come to visit. Thousands of people visit every day to pray to Guru Ji (God). It was built in the 16th century by guru Arjun Dev ji, who is the fifth guru of Sikhism. There are four entrances; all castes of the people can visit this holy and peaceful place.

When people visit, they first remove their shoes and wash their hands and cover their head properly before entering this temple.

There are no entrance fees; as this is a religious place, anyone can visit. It is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

There are four entrances.

When people visit, they enter the main building, wash their hands, remove their shoes and cover their head properly, and follow all the rituals.

There is a pond which we call “sarovar," in which there are a number of fishes; people just sit at the step of the pond and listen to holy chants and read the holy book. There is no garden here, because this temple is in the middle of the pond. Apart from this, there is a community  kitchen where people can eat free food over there.

Many people visit during the festival of Diwali, because on that day, the whole place is decorated with diyas, candles, and some lights; this makes the building more stunning.  I often visit this place once or twice per month when I am in India; whenever I visit, I pray to god to fulfill my wishes.

After that, I just sit on the steps of the pond and feed the fish, and listen to holy chants, which makes me more energetic. Now I imagine that if I get this opportunity I will definitely like to visit this beautiful place and take blessings from guru ji. I think everyone should visit this religious place.

The best time to visit the Golden Temple is early morning around 4 o'clock because that time is less crowded and people can easily get the blessings from God.
