When you want a holiday which is packed with a wealth of history and culture but also somewhere that can provide an excellent climate as well, there are a number of destinations which are readily available on the package market. Holidays to Egypt are one of the first destinations that springs to mind. With its world-famous history and fabulous archaeology it is the obvious place to visit. The beautiful beach resorts of the Red Sea, such as Sharm el Sheikh, offer everything you could ever want or need. And with just a short internal flight to the major attractions of Cairo or Luxor it makes these resorts a great place to base yourself.

Another excellent choice is Turkey. Turkey offers a mass of culture and history at every turn, but with a distinctly Western influence that often makes it more appealing to holidaymakers. Popular coastal destinations like Antalya provide excellent beaches and when you combine this with the fascinating local culture and history, it makes cheap breaks here a fantastic experience.

None of these vacations need to be expensive, unless you wish to splash out. With the multitude of flights currently offered and the packages now fiercely competitive, so many more destinations are now both accessible and affordable. Once you know where it is you want to travel to, then you can start to shop around for the best deal. Packages often come in cheaper, as they combine quality accommodation with return flights and mean you won’t have to spend money arranging transfers. You can also choose the package to suit your budget. So for instance, you can choose a self catering basis if you plan to be away from the hotel complex quite a lot during your holiday. Or you can go for an all inclusive break if you prefer  to have all of your meals and drinks pre-paid; that way you don’t need to worry about finding places to eat and drink.
