One of the most difficult things to arrange when you are disabled is travel. However, it doesn't have to be this way. There are a plethora of resources out there for travelers with disabilities. One of my favorite resources is Mobility International USA. Their goal is "empowering people with disabilities around the world to achieve their human rights through international exchange and international development."
MIUSA is a non-profit organization founded in 1981 by Susan Sygall and Barbara Williams. This year, they will celebrate their 45th anniversary!
MIUSA has three branches of their organization to provide services for people with disabilities:
The National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE)
National Clearinghouse on Disability & Exchange (NCDE) and MIUSA’s Orientation Program empowers people with disabilities to take advantage of the same international exchange opportunities as everyone else, navigating any access barrier along the way.
